About the Yin Yankee
Owner/creator Kim Klopcic brings years
of restaurant experience to the Yin Yankee.
He co-owned and successfully operated
an upscale dinner theater just outside
Cincinnati, Ohio for over 15 years.

Kim and his wife Paula Lynn searched
for several years and located the site that
now houses his restaurant, Yin Yankee Cafe
at 105 Main Street in Historic
Downtown Annapolis.

You might say that his theatrical experience
and flare for off the wall staging is clearly
evident with regards to Yin Yankee. If you
have not been to this restaurant, you are
truly missing the boat! At any given
time Kim can be found greeting you at the
door, seeing you to a table, serving your food,
clearing the table and working in the
kitchen...not to mention offering a nice pat
on the back, some chat and a hug and a
hand shake. Always the ultimate host,
Kim is working to build something special
with Yin Yankee, and Annapolis is very
lucky to have the opportunity to
experience this upscale cafe and bistro.

For those of you who have not been there....
Yin Yankee, offers a warm friendly place
to sit and enjoy the views of downtown
Annapolis, have a glass of fine wine or sake,
meet old friends, make new friends and
not to mention great food and an adventure,
not to be forgotten, in dining.
Yin Yankee is an evolution and is never
stagnant or boring.
Described by the Washington City Paper
as the "Bill Murray" of the cuisine set,
Yin Yankee co-owner Jerry Trice brings
to the table a sardonic wit worthy of a
television star and a passionate flair
for creative cooking.

Chef Trice's approach to plating exotic
Asian-fusion food at Yin Yankee is
to forego the boring and ignore
the timid.

Trice's exuberance behind the line provides
the spark that has Washingtonian
Magazine calling Yin Yankee "more fun
than the Cat in the Hat."

Whether it's presenting the witty house
favorite crab chops atop a bed of wasabi
mash potatoes or drizzling a melange
of sauces on a plate of pan-seared
scallops, Trice thrives in an open
kitchen where, he says, "guests can
drink in all the sights, sounds and
smells. It should be less about simple
order taking and more about the guests
seeing dishes go by or smelling a
combination of aromas and asking,
'What is that?' The frenetic energy and
making the guest a part of the
entire dining experience is always key."
